the picture worth a thousand words...

Brendan rode his bike to school today and so he was home before me.

Well on his way in the front door, he sees a snake. Size doesn't matter either, a snake is a snake.

He tells me about this snake he found dead and at first I think it was just a wild tell as usual. Then when I got home and saw for myself; I couldn't believe it... A snake was really dead from our guess trying to eat a snail.

The proof is in the picture and not only am I not that good at the photo shop, I wouldn't even know how to photo shop this:

Cub Scouts day at Cabela's

Scouts are selling popcorn right now. As a pack we went to Cabela's to sell outside the front doors.

They even held the doors open for customers.

But for those who was there, this will be a day they won't foget anytime soon. We think this guy was trying to steal something, but manager ask this guy if he could step over to him and talk and he bolted out the doors that our scouts was holding open way to go boys!

Thanks to one of our dads, he stepped in the way just as 2 people snagged this guys as they ripped his shirt. They took him in and about a hour half later 2 officers walked him out to a cop car. I think that he was a great example for our scouts and what happens when you make stupid choices!

Let's go to the ball park!

Even though the Rangers lost, we had a great time as a family.

We had some of the best sits EVER, Section 25 row 3 seats 5-8, that is behind Home plate where there was a lot of action this night. Guess who that is in the purple? Nolan Ryan. That was pretty cool. I heard a few other say that they don't see him at games that much. Maybe just not at field seats, they don't see him...

take picture quick - fight! He felt very stongly about something...

It was a little tense on the field. Then the coach came out and was kicked out of the game. BOO!

Then some crazy fan thought it would be cool to run across the field after wards. I wonder if he still feels that way after spending the night in jail?

Cater wasn't happy when we first got there. That was until he had about 3 bits of Cotton Candy. Then all was good the rest of the night!

Of course; we had to get in the spirit and they needed Texas Ranger Shirts...

Then game over but wait guess what tonight was... FIRWORKS! Oh yeah!

45minute I thought is was cool and they went to some really good music: hang on to what we got, Big girls don't cry, a few others that went with those and then "Oh what a night" was last.

Boys had such a good time. Brendan doesn't express to often but I heard him today telling his friends about it. So I knew then, how much fun he really had.

McDonald's night

One of the school fun things to do is dine out night at a specific place once a month, this past week was McDonald's night. We did great we actually broke our school's record and McD's made 4,000 in the 3 hours we was there. YEAH! What an exciting night.
We had a special guest stop by the school to get the word out. 95% of our school is car riders.
Brendan and his friend John playing air hockey.
Mr Hurst likes handing out little ice cream cones. The kids really enjoy getting it from him and are always in awe!

Labor Day Weekend

We started our weekend off great, with a football game! Central Charges the high school that we feed into. Their first game of the season, they won! Brendan stayed with a friend and was home about mid-night. Carter woke him up Saturday and this is where I see what 16 and 10 is going to be like for me. Brendan told Carter " when I stay out with my friends late at football games, DON'T WAKE ME UP the next morning!" WOW! at least he explained it to him why he was yelling at him. Carter just said "it's morning and it's time to get up."

We found ourselves looking forward to staying close to home. One Gabe is working like crazy right now. He opened his first Dunkin Donuts store the 25th of August and has another to open the 24 of September. So for what I thought would be a nice, restful, 3 days for me and the boys after the first week of school. What a joke, what was I thinking? Not with 2 boys who can be great together or NOT and it was just NOT this weekend. They was soo- tired of each other, we had to escape from the same 4 walls by Sunday afternoon. So we decided to go with Gabe to Cabala's and get new fishing poles for Carter and Gabe. It has been a great bonding time for them all to go fishing over at the pond. Brendan has progressed to baiting his own hooks and removing the fish by himself. Then on Monday what better way to escape when your children are acting like monkeys or some unknown wild animal. We decided to put or membership to use and go visit the real monkeys and other various wild animals. I think everyone had that one on their mind too. The Ft. Worth zoo was very busy!
Brendan was fascinated that the silver back Gorillas back was so white. This bird was just weird looking but neat. His head went completely around!

They have like a Texan area and this old Wells Fargo Carriage for kids/visitors to sit in. The whole area is like a old cow town, and a building that is all about Texas and native plastic plants. We also stopped to pet a baby cow and it was more interested in licking our zoo bag then it licked my hand! YUCK! it was worst then a cats tongue. Boys thought it was the funniest thing ever.

One of their favorites to watch, is the river otters. I had just missed it in the bubble but Brendan had been sitting there, when he came up and scared Brendan as he swam by.

I am thinking about a future in alligator wrestling? Maybe not.

They couldn't wait to see the snakes, bats and other things that slither, fly or crawl at night. This place had rattlers, Bats, ants and some desert beetle.

Yes! that is a rattle snake, The other is a banned copperhead I think that is what it was. I hope that is the only way they ever see either one of them. Since they are native.

Of course they have Penguins! They were very active and the building was crowded. The boys were able to get up to the glass and this one kept swimming by Carter. I think he may have liked him. We had a great time and it was just what we needed, what a wonderful day we had.
They looked forward to Tuesday and going to school but by Thursday, Carter once again didn't want to go anymore. He is done with school. He can count to 10 he knows all of his alphabet by sound and site. He is getting better at writing his own name. Teacher thinks he is really smart. We of course have known this about him a long time now though.
