Uncle Rusty

We was able to see him for a whole 20 minutes while he was in his lay over in the Dallas Airport. I did drive 40 minutes to visit for 20. It was worth it to get to see him. Boys love the picture I have of him in his uniform holding a big gun. After he left they asked does he carry his gun with him. I had to say no only when he is he is helping fight the war. They was excited to see him and Carter just to meet him.

Lion Roaring

Can't get it to upload; maybe later....

Ft. Worth Zoo

I think this was one of our best trips to the Ft. Worth Zoo. The last couple of times the animals haven't been very active or not out at all. We even discovered we could go inside the Gorilla area. Which was really exciting and cool! They had just been feed. The chimpanze was very active and scared this poor little girl when he pounded on the glass. But the boys just asked was he coming over here to bang on the other glass and wanted him too.
Here is a Gorilla sitting on the edge eating...

The gorilla was in the dark corner eating...

The funny thing is when he would get a bit of the grass/hay he would just lean forward and take a bit with out even using his hands. Boys thought this was talented.

Then we moved on the Tigers & lions(oh my) were out this trip. Yeah! My goodness we didn't know how big the white tigers were. The boys were amazed to see them.

Then the bangle tigers were out also. We hadn't seen them either they just had a litter of 3 cubs.

The Lion showed a AMAZING roar for us! Carter well we all was in ah! They thought he was singing.

The lioness was out also with her 4 cubs. They was fun to watch. Sad to say some one had thrown some trash over at them but one of the cubs was playing with it and another kept chasing it for the trash. Boys thought this was funny.

It was feeding time in the bird cages and this bird was cool but it was eating like a ham hock. Boys thought this was neat yet gross.

We had to have this picture to send to Uncle Rusty. We know how much he likes seeing them. At least this way he won't be getting poop thrown at him.

Boys sure were tired after about 4 hours of walking and looking.

Living Museum

Brendan's grade had a living museum at school. They was learning about how to do research. They all had to pick from different people and find information on them and then they will be writing papers on them. But they also got to dress up as them to for the school to walk through and they came to life when you stopped in front of them. They told you who they were and some interesting facts. Brendan wanted to be Abraham Lincoln. They all did a wonderful job. Here is Brendan and some of his classmates...

Parenting roles

It is funny when your children know what your going to do when other is in trouble.
This afternoon Brendan and Carter was outside playing with the neighbors. Carter is to stay with Brendan. Come on he is only 4, Brendan being 10 we have told him that it is fine to just watch him and we check on them about every 10 minutes to make sure we can see them. They can't be out of site from us looking out though either. Well they asked if they could go over to the park and I told them yes but that was it. To stay with each other, don't talk to strangers etc...
About 15 minutes later Carter came in crying said Brendan hurt his feeling.(That is Carter favorite saying to anything Brendan tries to do or say to Carter and he doesn't like it) I asked how and he said Brendan said I was ground from riding the scooter. I asked why? He said Brendan kept yelling at him to wait. Then in walks Brendan mad. I told him to calm down and he tells me Carter took off and wouldn't wait on him. That he keep yelling for him to wait but he wouldn't and then that he can't ride the scooter anymore cause he wasn't following directions. Then Carter pops off and said you wasn't being nice. You didn't say please. How can you argue with that. He was right. I told Brendan you could have been a little nicer and not so bossy and explained to Carter that Brendan will get in trouble if he didn't stay with him and that he should have listened whether he was being nice or not. There of course was more arguing between the 2 of them and then I had to say just stay in if your not going to be nice to each other. That changed their tune really fast and with the door bell ringing and Gabriel S. out side waiting off the 2 went to play some more in the parking lot across the street at the park. One riding the razor scooter and other on the rip-stick skateboard.

Weekend fun

The boys spent the weekend playing at the park. But they decided to play by the creek that runs through it.

The other kids that was at the park found this board but after they left my boys thought they would use it to cross the creek.

Then it was time for for the razor scooter and the rip stick to come out...

Brendan has gotten so good at it that Gabe even thought he would give it a try. To see how easy it is...

What a big kid at heart!
